Sustainability Statement

studioA Design is a design agency managed by co-founders Sunnie Newby and Harriet Palmer providing print and digital design and video work for their clients.

We recognise that our activities have an impact on the environment and society, most significantly travel for and participation in events locally and internationally, in-house energy use and choice of suppliers / clients. We have set out key objectives for 2023 in our sustainability and social impact action plan - and are working to wards completing our Green Mark certification for 2023.

Energy & Waste

  • Lights and equipment are switched off when not required and heating controls accurately set

  • We encourage our partners and clients to do the same in their work spaces.

  • We decrease the amount of meetings / team activities that require multiple screens/equipment.

  • Stationary and scrap paper is re-used

  • Waste paper, card, plastics, metals, glass, batteries and ink cartridges are recycled using licensed waste carriers. Food waste from our office and events is composted

  • We avoid single use plastics and disposables

Travel

  • We travel by public transport for work events whenever possible. When this is not possible, we car-share and co-ordinate meetings to minimise the number of journeys required

  • When traveling for international work we encourage suppliers and clients to provide rail and public transport routes over air and car travel.

  • Employees have the option and are provided the equipment to work from home

Procurement & Products

  • We select products made from recycled materials, with ISO / FSC and similar certification

  • Energy efficiency is a priority when purchasing electronic equipment

  • All inks are sourced from the most sustainable brands, and local delivery or pick is prioritised.

  • Paper is responsibly and locally sourced, all scrap and waste paper is reused multiple times for testing/storage.

  • All our packaging is repurposed material from work waste and other packaging and material
